Elands Veterinary Clinic have presented the Dog Show for many years and we are happy to announce that we are back this year!
Elands Veterinary Clinic opened January 1987 and since then has been offering a high quality, caring and professional services to the people and pets in our local community.
In 2010, the practice expanded and relocated to St John’s Church, London Road, Dunton Green which was beautifully converted to offer everything our patients require in modern, purpose built facilities.
The Dunton Green clinic has separate kennels and cattery wards for postoperative care, an isolation ward for infectious cases and a fully equipped laboratory and pharmacy. The practice routinely uses ultrasound as this enables investigation of many conditions, often without the need for a general anaesthetic or even sedation.
We continue to invest in state of the art technology each year. Other facilities such as the digital x-ray machine, dental x-rays, and our brand new in-house laboratory allow patients to be treated promptly. Blood test results, with a huge range of tests available to us, can be received within minutes, which provides the best diagnostics for sick patients. We have a cutting-edge new piece of equipment called the ‘Imagyst’ which very few practices can boast. The Imagyst reads slides containing blood, urine, skin, ear and faecal samples within minutes using artificial intelligence technology. Most impressively, it sends images of slides worldwide for assessment by a human pathologist, meaning any lump or bodily fluid can be examined and a diagnosis made within two hours.
Above all we care for each individual patient with compassion and kindness, as we would our own pets. As well as offering care for all domestic pets, Elands Veterinary Clinic offers a referral service to other veterinary practices in minimally invasive surgery techniques – more commonly known as keyhole surgery.
The Veterinary Surgeons at our clinic are Rebecca Nye Clinical Director, Iona Freeman, Sarah Askin, Natasha Cottham-Cartledge and Charlotte Surridge.
Our vets are ably assisted by our qualified Veterinary Nurses Emma Barty (Head Nurse), Erica Wilkes (Deputy Head Nurse), Laura Compton (Deputy Head Nurse), Ellen Farrelly and Jessie. They are supported by Natalie Smith (Student Veterinary Nurse). We are extremely proud of our team who constantly strive to improve their skills and go over and beyond every single day for our patients.
On the non-clinical side, you are welcomed at the practice either in person or over the telephone by one of our seven receptionists; Angela Golding (Reception Administrator), Tina Bosworth, Amy Laws, Andrea Fitzgerald, Andrea Sault, Sandie Fay and Emma Howard.
Saija Smith is our Practice Manager and she greatly enjoys being involved with planning and organising the dog show as well as getting to know those with pets in our local community.
